About Us

Family-owned Small Business

In 1923, Louis L. “Polly” and Dorothea Compton started Polly’s Pop in Independence, Missouri. It was originally located on River Boulevard near Truman Road, where Polly’s Pop Park sits today.

Polly’s Pop was known as a hometown product. When they first began it was made with water from a nearby spring and bottled locally. The company stayed in operation until 1967.

Local lawyer, Ken McClain and his wife Cindy resurrected the brand in August of 2016 in Independence. The new location 306 W. Maple Avenue, is just blocks away from the original. Wanting to keep the soda pop as authentic as possible, we use a bottling machine from the 1940s which was originally owned by Fitz Root Beer. Like other craft sodas, we produce our flavors in small batches to ensure the taste and quality are always up to par.

Our soda pop comes in 12 flavors; Root Beer, Diet Root Beer, Cream Soda, Black Cherry, Blue Raspberry, Grape, Orange, Pineapple, Peach, Strawberry, Ginger Beer, and Glazed Donut – a limited edition flavor made in collaboration with Donutology. It is made with premium cane sugar and it is caffeine and gluten-free.
